Is the licence per person or per company?
Per user. A licence covers one named person, who can install SSH Command on up to four of their own devices. A business with several users needs one licence for each of them.
Can my company pay instead of me?
Yes. Many users ask their employer to buy it. The licence belongs to the named user, and the company can pay for it. For several people, ask for a team quote.
I’m a freelancer. Is that personal or commercial?
Commercial. If you use it for client work or anything you’re paid for, it needs a licence, even if you’re a one-person business.
Do free and licensed users get different software?
The core app is the same: SSH, SFTP, SCP, FTP, the vault, jump hosts, port forwarding and auto-reconnect are free for everyone. The Pro tools — folder sync, scheduled transfers, run on many servers, saved scripts and session restore — are included with the commercial licence only, along with permission to use SSH Command at work.
What does “pay once, 12 months of updates” mean?
You pay $39 one time and keep using the version you have, forever, with nothing to renew. Any update released in the 12 months after you buy is included. After that you can keep using what you have, or renew to get newer versions.
What if I’m not sure which one applies to me?
Ask us. Send a note describing how you use it and we’ll tell you.
Where is the full legal text?
The End User License Agreement is the binding document. This page is a plain-language summary; if they ever differ, the agreement applies. The installers also show it before you install.
